showroomprive.com eyes Germany, Belgium and Dutch markets

Already present in Spain (an year ago), in the UK (March) and more recently in Italy (only 3 weeks ago), the private sales website Showroomprive.com is now looking new target: Germany. The founder Thirry Petit is also interested in the Netherlands and Belgium and he said: “there are many reasons why we are looking into other markets”.
They have the financial capacity since the venture capital firm Accel Partners acquired a minority stake in August last year.
Furthermore, these three countries are key for your expansion, given that Germany is the biggest European market, while the Belgian and Dutch markets are very active with numerous fashion brands.
Thierry Petit wants to make the arrival of his website in each different market as successful as possible. “For Germany we need a strategy”. The German market has different regulations. The return rate, for example, would be between 25 to 30%, which is a lot more compared to the 4% rate in France. This is “the European market that has invented discount and it is very strict when it comes to price rules”.
Since the very beginning of
Showroomprive's international expansion, the company realised the importance of paying close attention to the consumer behaviour of each country. It has a great success in Spain, in fact, the Spanish market is already close for volume and behaviours to the French one. It also gots off to a great start in Italy, where consumers love big brands. England are falling a little below the objectives. British buyers are used to sales: they want quick delivery even if the product is at a reduced price, while Showroomprive works in a way that the less you pay, the longer you have to wait”.
The founder has no regrets: “we are still trying, and this could also open doors to other countries in Northern Europe.
Just being present in numerous countries allows you to be in contact with other brands, as well as securing bigger and more important sales. In our ready-to-wear sector, Showroomprive currently offers 20,000 to 30,000 pieces, they aspect to get a total turnover of 180 million euros this year, against 130 million in 2010.

shopping station - bangkok

For several weeks I thought of a new "shopping station" and during this "cold" spring Sunday, I realized it.
The capital of Southeast Asia’s only uncolonised country, has been a buffer-zone between the French and British colonial empires. Bangkok itself has gained a reputation as an independent, dynamic and influential city.
In my opinion the most interesting way to know this chaotic city is using his transport: Tuk Tuk by land, boats by water and skytrain.
